The Ballon d'Or (French: Ballon d'Or), also known as the European Player of the Year, is an annual award

presented by France Football magazine to the best football player. The award went to English player

Stanley Matthews. The French magazine France Football was behind the idea and was the one

who chose the player who would be awarded the award, but now the player is chosen after a vote by

football journalists.

As usual in recent years, the famous French magazine published the names of the 30 candidates in 6

batches, each batch included 5 names. The two Arab stars, Mohamed Salah and Riyad Mahrez, were

among the list of nominees to win the award. Algerian Riyad Mahrez (Manchester City), French N'Golo

Kante (Chelsea), Italian Leonardo Bonucci (Juventus), English Mason Mount (Chelsea). The second

(Atletico Madrid). The award will be presented at a ceremony to be held on November 29 in the French
